HELP PAGE

Members Only Page

If you have come to this page, the most likely reason is that you cannot get into the Members Only site.

If you are not a Member - sorry!  That part of the site is a valuable resource which is maintained for the use of Members Only - you cannot get access, and that is that.   If you want to become a Member, see the Joining N.E.A.C Page on the Main Site.

If you are a Member, then either you have not yet got a username and password, or you have forgotten them.  In either case, you need to contact National Office and either have one allocated or get a reminder!

Navigation

This is a Multi-Level site.  You can manoeuvre around the site using the Buttons at the Top and Sides of the pages, and any Hotlinks or Hotspots which have been created for you.  These are easy to recognise, both by their physical presence and by the fact that if you move your mouse across any Buttons, Hotspots or Hotlinks, you should see where it will take you (if you click on it) displayed as text in your Browser.  This would normally appear in your Status Bar, which is usually located at the bottom left of your screen.  The physical recognition is quite easy:

A Button is a graphic which contains information that will allow your browser to take you to a particular place on the World Wide Web. Here is a Button.  If you click on it, it will take you to the foot of this page.   Once there click on Buttons to come back to this part of the page.

A Hotlink just looks like ordinary underlined text, and will normally be set in a different colour to the main text.  Here is an example of a Hotlink.  If you click it, you will be taken to the foot of this Page.   Once there click on Hotlinks to come back to this part of the page.

Page Foot

A Hotspot is a location on a graphic which has a hotlink in it.  There can be several hotspots on one graphic image.  Here is a graphic with three hotspots - try moving your mouse over the graphic and see where you will go if you click on the different sections.  Try clicking on them and you will be taken to different parts of this page.

The following are a few simple Tips to help you navigate the site effectively.

  • The Buttons at the top relate to pages on the current level.
  • The ones at the side relate to pages  on the level below.
  • The Up button will always take you up to the previous level.  There will be no Up button if there is no higher level.
  • Back and Forward buttons may be available if there are other pages on the same level.   By clicking on them you can go through the pages sequentially.
  • You can always use the Back button on your Browser (as opposed to any you may find on the pages of this site).  This will always take you back to the last page you viewed.

Help on Using the Internet in general should be available by selecting Help from the main menu of your Browser.
